Why did most philosophers despise women? haven't them recognized their role in the society?

It was the belief of their society at the time. That should tell you even smart people rarely see through institutionalized blinders. Read some modern philosophers. There are female ones like Simone de Beauvoir, Hannah Arendt, Susan Neiman, Elizabeth Anscombe, Ruth Millikan (not Ayn Rand, she's a bad philosopher and hated women too).
